When nerves are compressed in the spine or irritated due to disc herniation or arthritis, patients can experience shooting pain down the arm, down the leg, or in the buttocks. They can also experience numbness and tingling
CAUSES
Radiculopathy is caused by nerve dysfunction. This can result from disc herniation, spinal stenosis, facet joint syndrome or whiplash.
Symptoms
- Numbness and tingling in the arms and hands.
- Pain in the thoracic spine.
- Shooting arm and hand pain.
- Shooting pain in the side along the ribs.
