Spinal Stenosis

What You Need to Know

Due to advances in medicine we are living longer, and as we age, so does our spine. This can lead to narrowing of the spinal canal, causing compression of the spinal cord and nerves. With this compression can come leg pain and difficulty walking.

Spinal stenosis can occur naturally with age. It can also be caused by degenerative disc disease, disc herniation, cervical facet syndrome, lumbar facet syndrome, ligamentum flavum hypertrophy.

  • A need to bend forward to decrease pain.
  • Arm and neck pain.
  • Numbness and tingling in the upper extremities.
  • Pain when walking and standing.
