Whiplash is an acceleration and deceleration injury that most often occurs after a motor vehicle collision. The spine is protected by a bony cage that can trigger strains. While this cage protects the spine, it also means that a herniated disc can easily cause pain by pressing on nerves in the spine. Whiplash, or any injury that causes the spine to move abruptly, can result in pain. Early interventions can help prevent pain from whiplash injuries from becoming chronic.
CAUSES
Whiplash injury is typically caused after a car accident, a work injury, a sports injury or any other trauma that leads to the spine being moved abruptly.
Symptoms
Achy, throbbing pain in the affected area.

Cervical radiculopathy from disc herniation.
